28 May The speed of response is the most valued aspect of any vehicle rental app.
Facebook, Booking, Instagram and Whatsapp are the favourite apps to share travelling experiences. The majority of the respondents (86%) consider themselves to be regular app users.
The speed of response is the most valued aspect when booking a rental car through an app. That’s what Goldcar, the leading holiday rental vehicle company, showed through its latest customer survey. The study manifests that speed response (36%) is the most valued aspect, followed by a close second of extra promotions (33%), and the usability (31%). “Speed is a key factor. The users don’t just want to rent a car through any mobile device, anywhere and at any time. They also demand the greatest speed possible”, claims Pedro Pablo Sastre, Goldcar eCommerce Director. “This study shows that the travellers depend on their smartphone to plan and enjoy their holidays more and more, which is something that all touristic companies should take into account.”
When respondents were asked about other services the rental vehicle app should include, more than half (58%) mentioned that it should include geolocation, followed by the possibility of paying for petrol (32%) and other services (10%).
The Goldcar study also shows that the vast majority of the respondents (86%) consider themselves to be regular app users against the 14% who don’t and almost all of them (95%) claim that using it is easy for them. Also, it should be highlighted that 85% use map or navigation apps against a 15% who don’t. According to Pedro Pablo Sastre, eCommerce Director of Goldcar, “mobile devices have improved the flexibility for travellers. Goldcar is not exempt of this tendency and that’s why we work everyday towards an improved touristic experience, which is now digital, hyperconnected and multichannel. For instance, our responsive web allows the user to access it from any device, as well as the Goldcar App. This last one allows the traveller to book a vehicle, request an invoice, check information related to their destination, connect with roadside assistance, monitor in real time the time it will take for them to get to the rental office or activate a parking location system.”
When it comes to choosing a favourite app to share their travelling experiences on, the respondents highlighted Facebook, Booking, Instagram, Whatsapp or Google. On the other hand, when planning their trip they opt for more specialised apps such as Google Maps (48%) or TripAdvisor (46%), and pretty far behind come Google Earth (3%) or Lonely Planet (3%).
