18 Jan Goldcar launches Click’n Go, a digital system without a key
Without going via the counter and without waiting, users can pick up and drive their hire vehicle with a single touch on their mobile phone. Available now in Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, Madrid and Palma de Mallorca.
Goldcar, a market leader the holiday vehicle hire market, launches the Click’n Go service, a digital system that greatly speeds up the rental process as it allows the entire process to be carried out -from the reservation and payment until the collection and opening of the car- via a mobile phone, without the need for a key and without going to the counter.
With this launch, Goldcar becomes the first operator in the rent-a-car sector to offer a car hire service without a key. Juan Carlos Azcona, CEO of Goldcar explained, “connectivity and digitalisation are changing the paradigm of the tourism sector and at Goldcar we want to stay ahead of the innovation, providing value-added services to the traveller. This revolutionary system is easy and convenient for the user, when renting, paying and opening the vehicle from their own mobile device, making the travel experience much more enjoyable.”
The operation of Click’n Go is very simple. The customer receives the virtual key with the registration number and the vehicle location identified on their mobile phone via the Goldcar app. This way, you can open and close the vehicle without a key, in addition to starting it and getting the most out of your holiday. The Bluetooth technology that equips all smartphones does the rest, allowing the connection of the vehicle with the client’s device. In less than a minute you can start your trip, because with Click’n Go the assigned vehicle will be in the parking space at the exact pick-up time that the client has indicated on their booking, thus avoiding unnecessary waiting times.
Click’n Go is now available to all Goldcar users who hire a car exclusively via the Goldcar website in Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, Madrid and Palma de Mallorca. The objective of the company is to gradually expand this service over the next few months so that it is operational in all the destinations where they are present.
Key’n Go: more than 23,000 customers have picked up their car in less than 1 minute.
With the aim of being at the forefront of the car rental sector, Goldcar has launched several innovations onto the market. “The technological link to the rental processes is, and will continue to be, one of the key aims of the company’s strategy”, explained Juan Carlos Azcona.
Last year was marked by the launch of Key’n Go, an intelligent key dispenser that allows the user to pick up and deliver the vehicle keys by showing a QR code to the machine reader, without having to go via the office, completing the process in just 60 seconds. More than 23,000 customers have already benefited from this service, operating in 21 Goldcar offices in Spain, Italy and Portugal. Over the next few months, the company will continue to integrate it gradually in the rest of its destinations.
